This sounds like a really cool plugin idea, and probably wouldn't be  
too terribly hard -- there's a command line utility out there to take  
snapshots from the iSight, if it's open source it probably wouldn't be  
too hard to use it in adium (or just use NSTask to launch it directly).

Just FYI for anyone who's reading the list and wants to develop a  
plugin.
