Well, I'd estimate it at 2 to 3 days of dedicated programming, and
that's with no experience writing nonblocking socket code from
scratch. That's more than I have to invest in it this week or next
but I'm not sure if it justifies a GSoC project :)
I'll play with this code, actually commit it the libgaim
repository, and have a new build of libgaim.framework in svn later
this afternoon for you to try since you have a router demonstrating
the problem I somewhat expected .
