Not in releases. The Release Makefile converts them to binary format.

And no, compressing nibs won't work. NSNib doesn't expect compressed  
data. (Or at least it's not documented as working with compressed  
data. It would be very cool if it Did the Right Thing for gzip, bzip,  
or zip. But I wouldn't expect it to.)
