[Adium-devl] Thoughts on a summary since the beta so people stop asking us where 1.0 is AND should we set a cutoff date for a release, even with bugs?

I think we can do sooner than Feb 1. I'd like to fix the Talk
everyone-shows-up-on-the-buddy-list regression (which I strongly
suspect was created when switching to using Talk's own roster system
around gaim [17993]) (#6070)... and the other blist.xml ticket seems
like a major problem, though I can't reproduce it (#5901). I'm going
to look at the Talk issues this afternoon. I'd really appreciate
steps to reproduce -- on an account which someone capable of adding
debug logging and hunting down the problem can access.

AIM file transfers still fail for some users when they have to go
through the proxy server, with an 'unknown proxy error' which
displays as simply being a cancel on one side and no response on the
other. That'd be great to fix before releasing... Graham, do you
have the data on that already or need it? I believe edr took some
packet traces of it happening to him at one point. (#5932).

There are, of course, other crashes still extant. I sent a
reasonably comprehensive list of the libgaim ones I've seen in the
crash reporter to adium-devl and gaim-devl yesterday. None of these
besides the AIM ones which Graham has fixed were new to libgaim 2.0.0
so far as I'm aware, so they aren't regressions and don't play into
blocking a release. Fixes would be fantastic, but the problems are
there in 0.89.1, too.

Beyond those three, infrastructure is in place as much as it's going
to be. Some press preparedness would be cool -- for example, I'm
working on an interview with macgadget.de about Adium 1.0 which
they'll be translating into German and posting in both languages to
go with our release when it happens.

Cheers,
Evan
