I was exhausted and apparently a bit pessimistic at 6 AM last night ;)

I just added some logging and handling which may work around the  
issue.  mDNSResponder will still crash... the fact that it does this  
in 10.4 but not 10.5 makes me feel that it's an Apple bug which has  
been fixed.  The difference will be that we'll properly disconnect and  
then reconnect in 5 seconds rather than thrashing forever with massive  
CPU usage.  I'll push a beta and we'll see how it goes :)
