[Adium-devl] List animations?

So, while I like the new animations in 1.1 that Evan added, I'm not  
entirely sure that adding them without a preference is a great idea.

It looks to me like adding checks on some sort of "shouldAnimateAtAll"  
variable around the calls to -updateForNewIndexesFromOldIndexes... in - 
reloadData: and friends should be enough to allow us to disable and  
enable animations on the fly.

I'm mailing the list because I'm unsure what we want to do about the  
exisitng "Show transitions as contacts sign on and off" pref in  
Advanced->Contact LIst. In my testing, in fact, having that pref  
turned on actually disabled the animations in the CL.

What.

I wouldn't mind just removing the feature currently implemented by  
"Show transitions when fading in & out" entirely -- it's slow and  
doesn't look all that good. Plus we have those great new transitions  
instead.
