'cause then it adds another preference to be checked when logging.  
Ideally, there should be a single method to determine if a particular  
message should be logged. It's on my list of things to cleanup in the  
logging plugin. We have a lot of repetition in there for stuff like  
that. (temporary accounts is mostly what I'm talking about, but I can  
see it growing, especially as we give more control over how things are  
logged).
