If you want to host the store yourselves, then I know the guys  
running this store:

     http://www.megagear.com/

went through a number of software changes before they started using the
current one. They seem to be using the solution from:

    http://www.volusion.com/

It might be of interest to talk to the guys running the MegaTokyo web  
store and
the Firefox web store to see if we can get any advice.
