Not cc'ing to joscar discuss 'cause it's an Adium issue.
T-shirts have been coming along very nicely. I think we're going to go
with Business Builders, but I have not done an extensive review of the
pricing yet -- they do seem the most eager to work with us.
What we're currently looking at from them is a 1.5" embroidery of the
duck on a polo shirt. I can forward you guys the PDF of the options as
far as which make of polo shirts we can get, if you want -- they all
look mostly the same to me. I don't really know anything about
shirts. :) The polo shirt price point is going to be somewhere between
$20 and $30, that's my guess, looking over the options.
As far as other merch goes -- I think the idea that has been tossed
around of a flash drive really rocks. We can get Adiumy branded ones
and fill them with a bunch of cool Xtras and stuff and sell those, and
get a smaller sized one with just Adium on it and pass those out when
we go to trade shows and stuff (MacWorld, etc).
The neatest part about the flash drives is that if we order enough, we
can get one made in the shape of Adiumy. I don't know how many we
would need to order to do get that, or how much extra that would cost.
I think this option should wait until we have a better idea of what
we're doing as far as retail goes.
I think we should get to work setting up a basic store. Zac, can we
get you to work on this? We would be able to pay you this time ;)
I have also been talking to Adam Betts about this, and he says he may
be able to get us in contact with Insanely Great Shirts -- I think
selling some T-shirts on their website might be an awesome way to get
some additional buzz for Adium. I am talking to Sam Gwylim (the Vector
ducks creator). He has designed T-shirts before, and is pretty handy
with Illustrator. The main idea we've tossed around are the burning
duck silhouette suggested on the forums. I personally would like to
avoid just selling Adiumy on a white T-shirt. I think we can be a
little more creative than that ;)
