Chris,
	We have the "not invented here" motto... which means we do not seek  
to create the wheel but us existing wheels to reach our goals.  The  
GPL would stop us from using things like APR as it stands now.  the  
GPLv3 aims to correct this.  We are in a wait and see stance on that  
one.  Things g.729, g723.1 and AMR are so patented encumbered its not  
something you can release or use in a GPL project without someone  
coming down on you hard.  The MPL is compatible with our goals to  
have these technologies.  Example an ss7 stack will not be something  
that can be open sourced and be certified to be used for a carrier  
interconnect.  So we have to be compatible with libs that are closed  
source or binary only.  ie Cepstral TTS and Lumenvox ASR are examples  
of things we couldn't do if we choose the GPL.
