I was curious, so I checked.

% curl -I http://adiumx.com/sparkle/profileInfo.php | wc -c
196
% curl -I 'http://trac.adiumx.com/browser/trunk/appcast.xml? 
format=raw' | wc -c
382
% calc 196 + 382
	578

So our total download bandwidth expenditure is 578 bytes, assuming  
that there's no update.

Incidentally, has Sparkle been tested in the case of an inaccessible  
HTTP server?
