It makes sense for our terminology for "series of messages sent from
you to one or more people within a single context along with his/her/
their responses" to be consistent across things-happening-now and
things-which-happened-in-the-past, though. The idea of a log or a
transcript is an artificial one, a file construct... the important
thing is that the user is either participating in a chat (happening-
now) or reviewing a past chat (happened-in-the-past). The IRC log
and subsequent comments support this way of thinking, I think.

We say File->New Chat, for example. That creates a chat, in which
you then talk.

I think my suggested 'Conversations' is bad -- we don't use that term
anywhere else. How about patr1ck's suggestion of just using Chat?
(He talked about it in terms of consistency with iChat, which doesn't
really exist since iChat has no log viewer.. but the idea's still a
good one).

File->New Chat
File->Join Group Chat
File->Close Chat
etc.

Contact->View Previous Chats

Window->Previous Chats
or
Window->Previous Chat Viewer

and the log viewer's window title is one of those two.

Thoughts?
