[Adium-devl] Adium 1.0 beta

Gentlemen,

We've been pushing back and pushing back, for necessary reasons, the  
release of Adium 1.0 beta 1 for several months now.  Huge strides  
have been made recently as well as over the course of the last over-a- 
year that the trunk has had separate development... pretty amazing.

Unless there are strong disagreements, I'd like to propose  a hard  
deadline.  All changes which will be in beta 1 in by the end of  
Wednesday, June 28, three weeks from now.  Thursday and Friday, if  
necessary, for pre-release stuff -- finishing the changelog, setting  
up the beta1 Sparkle appcast, etc.  Release of the beta itself on  
Friday or, at the latest, Saturday.  If a new feature or enhancement  
isn't close enough to complete to be ready for the beta, we'll #ifdef  
it out or pull it and it can be a part of Adium 1.1.

The beta's release will also mark stringfreeze and therefore the  
beginning of the translators' efforts (which won't be nearly as  
difficult as they might be because we've been keeping the new strings  
which have shown up in trunk translated during the 0.8x translaltion  
process).

In three weeks, can we have basic XML reading and importing done,  
Colin? What about message history?  Peter, message history will be  
utilizing your liblmx -- perhaps you could tackle that aspect?

Keith, most of the weight for the what needs to be done for 1.0 beta  
1 at this point falls on your shoulders.  You said earlier to me that  
you could have it all done by the end of the month -- still up to the  
task?
