One critical pro that is missing from the list for XML (and likewise
a con for SQLite).
The ability to open in a web browser. In Fire, a tremendous number
of our users like to open the logs within a web browser. In
addition, I do this myself several times when I want to have a friend
read a conversation I had with someone else. It is nice to be able
to simply upload the log file to a web server and have someone read
it in a web browser. This also includes the ability to read the log
files through an ssh session (which several of our users do) without
knowing before hand that they are going to do it.

Another pro for XML is one can easily sync between two computers. I
currently use a rsync script for sync of log files within Fire. I
don't see an easy way to do this with SQLite.

I agree with Jeffrey, in that we should stick with XML for now, and
deal with speed issues if they should arise.
