We should start off doing this on trunk, I think -- it's a truly
trivial but tough-to-merge-if-on-a-branch change which opens the door
to:

which would be worth doing on a branch so as not to disrupt the beta
progress. We can merge it in when done, and I'd be okay with it
going to 1.0 This shouldn't create bugs, in that it'll mostly be
moving definitions around and adding documentation, and I agree with
Peter that it's worth doing sooner than later.

This is fixing a regression, really -- AppleScript, particular re:
status, has gotten much worse in 1.0 than it was in 0.8x due to
internal changes with which we didn't keep the applescript up to
date... 100% falls into the realm of things we should do for 1.0.
