Well, we could just enable the regex portion of the spam filter, but 
that's not going to be super effective in the long term as it is 
reactive rather than proactive. Akismet only catches so much as well, 
and causes users problems as we've seen posted on the forums.

The mailing lists always get overrun with spam at some point as well, I 
don't think that's a viable solution to it long term either.

We could disable access permanently, and force all issues to be 
introduced on the forums where it is at least somewhat more manageable. 
I don't know if that's a good idea or not but it is an idea.
